Fuel shut-off valve connector 718/20055 is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines.

This part is the connector with wire tail for the fuel shut-off valve (stop solenoid), listed in the product card as 718/20055. If the connection to the shut-off valve fails, the engine will not start or stops suddenly, so a sound connector here matters. The seals of a sealed connector keep water and dust away from the contacts, and a broken, melted or corroded connector makes the connected part fail now and then. Replacing just the connector with its wire tail avoids replacing the whole harness.

Fitting

Cut off the old connector and join the wires to those of the new one by colour; solder the joints and insulate them with heat-shrink. Push the connector into its mate until it locks and check that the connected lamp or part works.

JCB 3CX and 4CX wiring diagrams before and after May 2009: sheets and component keys

Section C of the JCB service manual (publication 9803/3290-15) gives the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loader wiring diagram in two versions: one for machines built up to May 2009 with analogue instruments and one for machines from May 2009 with the digital instrument panel. On the earlier machines the main machine circuit takes two sheets, with separate circuits for the gearboxes and options; the later circuit runs to 15 sheets. Below are the main sheets, the component keys and a guide to reading wire numbers.
