For the construction machines: battery terminal set, an aftermarket part. The card gives no part number. According to the product card, the set contains positive and negative terminals, chosen by the diameter of the battery posts.

The positive and negative terminals differ in bore diameter, just as the battery posts do, the positive post being thicker. Each terminal is therefore fitted to its own post without being forced open. The cable is clamped over the full contact area, with the strands cleaned first. A white or greenish deposit on the terminals is a sign of corrosion; it is cleaned off, and the terminal is coated with protective grease after tightening.

Fitting

Disconnect the negative terminal first when removing and connect it last when fitting. Do not overtighten the terminals, or the battery posts may be damaged.

JCB 3CX and 4CX wiring diagrams before and after May 2009: sheets and component keys

Section C of the JCB service manual (publication 9803/3290-15) gives the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loader wiring diagram in two versions: one for machines built up to May 2009 with analogue instruments and one for machines from May 2009 with the digital instrument panel. On the earlier machines the main machine circuit takes two sheets, with separate circuits for the gearboxes and options; the later circuit runs to 15 sheets. Below are the main sheets, the component keys and a guide to reading wire numbers.
