12 V batteries for construction machinery: 100 to 135 Ah capacity and 800–1100 A cold cranking current. There are JCB 110 Ah (729/10669) and 126 Ah (729/10655) batteries and aftermarket batteries. Compare capacity, cranking current, terminal layout and case size; 24 V machines use two batteries in series.
EFB batteries are enhanced flooded batteries with stronger plates: they handle frequent starts, deep discharge and vibration better than standard ones. The cold cranking current (for example 1000 A) shows how much current the battery delivers briefly in frost; for a diesel in a cold climate choose it with a margin. A fully charged battery at rest reads 12.6–12.7 V; at 12.4 V or below, charge it before work. Keep the terminals clean and tight and the battery firmly clamped: vibration destroys the plates of a loose battery. If the machine stands idle for more than two or three weeks, disconnect the negative terminal or keep the battery on charge.
Battery cables and terminals are in the wiring section. One level up is the electrical system category.
By production type, this category holds: original — 2, aftermarket — 8. Prices are given on request: press «Request price» and state the part number or the capacity and terminal layout.
