Battery 100Ah 12V 900A EFB, aftermarket

For the backhoe loaders and other construction machines: battery 100Ah, an aftermarket part.

This battery is 12 V, 100 Ah with 900 A cold cranking current, made with EFB (enhanced flooded battery) technology. EFB batteries cope better than conventional flooded batteries with frequent starting and partial charge conditions, which helps in stop-start work. Before fitting, compare the terminal layout with the old battery and clamp it firmly with the hold-down. Its charge depends on the alternator giving the right voltage: about 13.8-14.4 V should be measured in a 12 V system with the engine running.

Fitting

When removing the battery, disconnect the negative first, then the positive; when fitting, reverse the order: positive first, then negative. This stops a spanner touching earth from causing a short. Clamp the new battery firmly in its tray with the hold-down, since vibration damages the plates of a loose battery. Clean the terminals, tighten the clamps and apply a thin coat of terminal grease. The part comes new; before fitting, compare its part number and connection type with the old part. After the change, check the function and the warnings on the instrument panel.
