Battery 125Ah 12V 1100A, aftermarket

For the backhoe loaders and other construction machines: battery 125Ah, an aftermarket part.

This battery is 12 V, 125 Ah with 1100 A (EN) cold cranking current, a professional series type designed for heavy duty. The label in the photo shows an R+ mark, meaning the positive terminal is on the right. The high cold cranking current makes it easier to start large diesel engines in cold weather. The battery's charge depends on the alternator delivering the right voltage: in a 12 V system about 13.8-14.4 V should be measured at the terminals with the engine running. In winter keep the battery charged so it can deliver its full cold cranking current, since a half-discharged battery gives less current in the cold and risks freezing. If the battery will not be used for a long time, remove it, store it somewhere cool and dry and charge it regularly. White oxide on the terminals is cleaned off with hot water and a brush, since it hinders the starting current.

Fitting

Before fitting, compare the terminal layout (which side the positive is on) and terminal type with the old battery, so the cables reach without strain. Check the charge with a voltmeter before first use: a rested, fully charged 12 V battery reads about 12.6-12.8 V.
