Engine wiring harness 235-8202 is an aftermarket part for the Caterpillar machines.

According to the product card, this engine harness is listed for the Caterpillar C9 engine under the number 235-8202. An engine harness links the injectors and engine sensors (temperature, pressure, speed) to the engine control unit, and its yellow braided sleeve protects it from heat and abrasion. A fault in the engine harness can stop the engine starting, cut out a cylinder or reduce power. When replacing it, label the connectors one by one and plug the new harness into the same points, with the connector latches clicking home. Afterwards check for fault codes with a diagnostic tool. The harness comes new, and the ties and holders of the old harness are reused for the new one.

Fitting

Before the change, switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery negative. Note the route and tie points as the old cable comes off. Run the new one along the same route, secure it with ties away from moving parts, hot surfaces and sharp edges, and push the connectors home until they lock. After reconnecting the battery, test the related functions.
