Transmission bearing 907/53800 is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines.
Transmission bearings carry the input, countershaft and output shafts in the housing and pass the gear mesh forces to the case. Taper roller bearings take both radial and axial loads and usually work in opposed pairs with a set preload, while ball bearings mostly support shafts with light axial loads. A worn bearing lets the shaft run out, spoils the gear mesh and makes the seals leak; a hum or whine from the gearbox is often the first sign of bearing trouble. Bearing noise usually rises under load and at certain speeds; if it changes with road speed rather than with the gear selected, suspect the bearings on the output side.

Compatibility
According to the product card, 907/53800 is a transmission bearing. The card also lists 907/20045, another JCB number for the same part. Standard bearing designation: 25584A-520. Fit is confirmed by the part number. The catalogue also has the aftermarket version and genuine version of this part. Other parts are in Transmission.
Fitting
To change a bearing, remove the relevant shaft from the gearbox, pull the old bearing with a suitable puller and check the shaft and housing seats. Lubricate the new bearing with clean transmission oil and press it on applying force only to the ring being seated, never through the rollers or balls. On taper bearings, set the preload or end float with shims to the service manual. After assembly, fill the gearbox with the specified oil and listen for noise and watch the temperature on the first run.
