For the JCB machines: transmission oil pipe 830/M6181, an aftermarket part.

The pipe is chosen by part number for the machine model and gearbox type, as its bends and end fittings suit only one location. When changing it, renew the joint seals and O-rings, check the retaining clamps and anti-vibration mounts and make sure the pipe does not touch other parts. If the pipe carries transmission oil under pressure, a crack causes both oil loss and a drop in clutch pressure, so work stops as soon as a leak is noticed. The O-rings and copper washers at the pipe joints are renewed every time they are undone.

Fitting

Before the change, drain the gearbox oil into a suitable container or plug the connections to avoid losses. Fit the new pipe without strain, start the fittings by hand and tighten them to the specified torque, then fit the clamps. After assembly, top up the oil, run the engine and check the joints for leaks. In the first hours after the repair, watch the transmission oil temperature and level, and do the first oil and filter change earlier than usual.
