Battery positive cable 1600 mm 332/C2218 is a genuine JCB part for the JCB machines.

This cable is the 1600 mm positive battery cable connecting the battery positive terminal to the starter and the machine's electrics; the product card lists it as 332/C2218. The positive cable carries the starter's heavy current, so oxide on its lugs or a loose joint causes slow cranking and heating. If its insulation wears where it rubs on the chassis, there is a risk of a short and fire, so check the cable route and clamps. Disconnect the battery negative first when replacing it.

Fitting

Before the change, switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery negative if needed. Remove the connector by pressing its latch, never by pulling the wires. After fitting the new part, push the clean, dry connector fully home and check that the latch has clicked into place. After reconnecting the battery, check the function and the instrument panel. The part comes new; before fitting, compare its part number, voltage and connection type with the old part. After the change, check the function and the warnings on the instrument panel; the connections must be clean, dry and tight.
