The genuine JCB foot switch sits neatly in its recess in the cab floor, and its cable exit suits the machine harness. The pedal surface has a non-slip pattern for controlled use even with muddy boots. When replacing it, check the cable for chafing where it passes under the cab floor. After the change, switch on the breaker circuit and check that the breaker works when the pedal is pressed and stops when it is released. Hydraulic oil heats up and gets dirty quickly during breaker work, so hydraulic filter service intervals are shortened. Wrap the foot switch cable in protective spiral where it runs under the cab floor so it does not rub on metal edges. The switch is chosen by comparing its connector type and cable exit direction with the old one.

Fitting

Switch off the ignition before the change. Unscrew the switch from the floor and unplug its cable; fix the new one in the same position and lock the connector. If the pins at the back are darkened or melted, check the harness connector too, since a faulty connector will heat the new switch as well. After the change, test the function in every position.
