For the JCB machines: work light (rectangular) 700/10100, an aftermarket part.

This rectangular-bodied work light is a single-bulb lamp used on older JCB machines; the product card lists it as a single-bulb rectangular work light. The photo shows the rectangular body in a black frame and a patterned lens. In single-bulb lamps the bulb wattage and type must suit the body so the lamp does not overheat. The body seal keeps out dust and water, and if it has hardened condensation forms inside. The lamp is chosen by part number and mounting points.

Fitting

Bolt the lamp to its bracket without cracking the body or lens. Make the connector or wire joints clean and dry and check that the earth is secure. After reconnecting the battery, test every function of the lamp and adjust the beam direction if needed. When choosing the lamp, compare the voltage (12 V or 24 V), bulb type, side and mounting points with the old one. The body seal must be in place, otherwise condensation forms inside and the reflector soon dulls. Clean the lens with water and a soft cloth, not solvent.

JCB 3CX and 4CX wiring diagrams before and after May 2009: sheets and component keys

Section C of the JCB service manual (publication 9803/3290-15) gives the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loader wiring diagram in two versions: one for machines built up to May 2009 with analogue instruments and one for machines from May 2009 with the digital instrument panel. On the earlier machines the main machine circuit takes two sheets, with separate circuits for the gearboxes and options; the later circuit runs to 15 sheets. Below are the main sheets, the component keys and a guide to reading wire numbers.
