According to sources, this oval-bodied rear lamp is used on JCB backhoe loaders and other JCB machines, and its common housing lets it be fitted on either side. In the bulb version, bulbs are chosen for the wattage and voltage of their holders, since a wrong wattage can make the indicator flash fast or the lamp overheat. The lamp seal keeps water out between the body and the lens, and without it condensation forms inside. The lamp comes new. If the lamp works but is dim, check the earth first, since a rusty earth point is a common cause of dim light or of the tail light going out when the brake light comes on. Clean oxide from the bulb holders with fine abrasive paper or contact spray. Red and amber lenses fade in the sun over time, and a faded lens reduces the colour and visibility of the light.

Fitting
