For the JCB machines: horn 704/37300, a genuine JCB part. The card also lists 335/B4669, 401/L8899.

The horn is held to its bracket by a single bolt, and its sound outlet should face down or sideways so water and mud do not collect inside. If the horn earths through its body, the bracket face must be clean, otherwise it sounds weak. According to sources, the numbers 704/37300, 335/B4669 and 401/L8899 are used for the same horn. The horn is chosen by voltage and connection type. After the change, press the button to check the sound. The horn's tone adjusting screw is set at the factory and is not touched. The horn's wire joints are covered with a protective cap against wash water. If the horn is silent but the relay clicks, the fault is in the horn or its earth; if the relay does not click either, check the button or fuse. The horn comes new.

JCB 3CX and 4CX wiring diagrams before and after May 2009: sheets and component keys

Section C of the JCB service manual (publication 9803/3290-15) gives the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loader wiring diagram in two versions: one for machines built up to May 2009 with analogue instruments and one for machines from May 2009 with the digital instrument panel. On the earlier machines the main machine circuit takes two sheets, with separate circuits for the gearboxes and options; the later circuit runs to 15 sheets. Below are the main sheets, the component keys and a guide to reading wire numbers.
