Beacon 24 V 700/50042 is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines. The card also lists 700/36900, 700/33500.
This beacon is listed in the product card as a 24 V beacon under the JCB numbers 700/50042, 700/36900 and 700/33500. 24 V beacons are used on excavators and other two-battery machines, and a 12 V beacon soon fails on such a system. The beacon is fixed to its place on the cab roof and its lead connected to the machine harness. A cracked cover lets water in, and the beacon is then replaced. Genuine JCB beacons come to suit the mounting points on the cab roof and the machine harness. The beacon is kept on while driving on the road and working on site. In bulb beacons, the bulb must sit exactly in the centre of the rotating reflector, otherwise the light pattern is spoiled. The cover seal keeps water out, and a hardened seal is renewed.

Fitting
After fitting, switch the beacon on and off to check it works and is visible from every side, routing the cable so it is not trapped by doors or windows and does not touch moving parts. The part comes new; before fitting, compare its part number, voltage and connection type with the old part. After the change, check the function and the warnings on the instrument panel; the connections must be clean, dry and tight.
