70x1.0 mm pin shim washer KMV0144 is an aftermarket part for the JCB JS crawler excavators. According to the product card, this part is a pin shim washer, size 70x1.0 mm.

Joint play is checked during routine servicing of the machine, and removing it early extends the life of pins and bushes. Where possible, the shims are divided equally between both sides so that the clearance does not collect on one side. After assembly the joint is greased and checked for binding through its full range of movement. The total thickness of the shim pack is measured again before the pin is refitted.

Fitting

Before fitting the washer, clean the seating faces and remove burrs and old seal remains. Fit the washer the right way round and tighten the joint to the specified torque. Copper and aluminium sealing washers that have been removed are not reused; new ones are fitted.
