Boom pivot pin 332/H5723 is an aftermarket part for the JCB Loadall telehandlers.

The pivot pin is the joint pin on which a telehandler boom, lift cylinder or linkage arms turn. When the boom is raised and a load carried, the pin takes large shear and bending loads, so it is made of hardened steel protected by chrome or a similar coating. Play develops between a worn pin and its bush, the boom knocks under load and the load cannot be placed precisely, while an unlubricated pin can seize in its bush and stop turning.

Compatibility

According to sources, 332/H5723 is a 59.9 x 188 mm pivot pin used on JCB 550-80 and 560-80 telehandlers. Other parts are in Excavator undercarriage.

Fitting

Before driving the pin out, support the boom and cylinder securely, since removing a loaded pin is dangerous. Grease the new pin, slide it squarely into place, fit the retainer and pump grease through the nipple until old grease comes out. Repeat greasing regularly at the intervals in the service manual. When measuring the bores and bushes, also check for ovality, since an oval eye will give play even with a new pin and bush, and if necessary bore the eye out for an oversize bush. After assembly, work the boom through its full range and keep the joint well greased during the first hours of work.

JCB JS200–JS260 Track Tension: How to Check the Sag and Adjust the Tracks
Track tension on the JCB JS200, JS210, JS220, JS240 and JS260 tracked excavators should be checked every shift. With the track raised off the ground, the gap between the underside of the track frame and the top of the track shoe at the fourth bottom roller from the front should be 275–295 mm on hard ground and 320–340 mm on soft sand and sticky clay. Tension is adjusted with grease through the valve on the track adjuster cylinder. The procedure below follows Section 3 of JCB service manual 9803/6400.

JCB JS200–JS260 Travel Motor and Gearbox: Section F of Service Manual 9803/6400
Section F of JCB service manual 9803/6400 covers the transmission of the JCB JS200, JS210, JS220, JS240 and JS260 tracked excavators, which in practice means the travel motor and gearbox units. Each track is driven by its own unit: a swash plate axial piston motor with an integral parking brake, counterbalance valve, cross-line relief valves and two-speed changeover, combined with a three-stage planetary gearbox. The section gives technical data, operation, fault finding, and removal, dismantling and assembly of the motor and gearbox. The swing motor is covered in Section E. The PDF has 61 pages.

JCB JS200–JS260 Undercarriage: Section J of Service Manual 9803/6400
Section J of JCB service manual 9803/6400 covers the undercarriage (track running gear) of the JCB JS200, JS210, JS220, JS240 and JS260 tracked excavators: the idler with track adjuster, the adjuster cylinder, the drive sprocket, and the top and bottom rollers. For each assembly it gives removal and replacement, dismantling and assembly, and a wear limit table that tells you whether a part can be built up by welding or must be renewed. The PDF has 33 pages.

JCB JS200–JS260 Torque Settings and Sealants: Service Manual Sections 1–2
Sections 1 and 2 of JCB service manual 9803/6400 cover general information and safety for the JCB JS200, JS210, JS220, JS240 and JS260 tracked excavators. Their most useful part is the torque settings table for the main assemblies: undercarriage, slew ring, counterweight, engine, pump and tanks. The sections also list the JCB service tools for electrical, hydraulic and transmission checks, and give a table of sealants and threadlockers with JCB part numbers. The PDF runs to 19 pages.
