Track chain pin JRA0092 is an aftermarket part for the JCB JS crawler excavators.

The track chain pin links the chain links and turns inside a bush; the links pivot about the pin and bush so the chain can wrap round the sprocket and idler. Wear between pin and bush lengthens the chain pitch, and a stretched chain does not seat properly on the sprocket teeth, makes noise and wears the teeth quickly. The standard pin is used in the permanent joints of the chain, while the master pin is used in the joint that can be opened.

Compatibility

According to sources, JRA0092 is the standard track chain pin of JCB crawler excavators such as the JS220; the master pin is JRA0093. Other parts are in Excavator undercarriage.

Fitting

The standard pin is fitted when the chain is pressed apart and together on a press, and the pin and bush must suit the chain type. Check the chain pitch by measuring the length over a number of links, and renew the chain or turn the bushes when the limit is exceeded. After assembly, set the track tension to the service manual. When fitting the pin, inspect the link holes too, since an enlarged hole will not give the pin an interference fit and the link will need replacing.

JCB JS200–JS260 Track Tension: How to Check the Sag and Adjust the Tracks

Track tension on the JCB JS200, JS210, JS220, JS240 and JS260 tracked excavators should be checked every shift. With the track raised off the ground, the gap between the underside of the track frame and the top of the track shoe at the fourth bottom roller from the front should be 275–295 mm on hard ground and 320–340 mm on soft sand and sticky clay. Tension is adjusted with grease through the valve on the track adjuster cylinder. The procedure below follows Section 3 of JCB service manual 9803/6400.
