Transmission oil pipe 830/11842 is a genuine JCB part for the JCB machines.

A transmission pipe carries oil between the pump, filter, oil cooler and valve block, or connects the gearbox to its breather and level lines. It works under engine and gearbox vibration and can crack if its clamps work loose or it chafes. A leaking pipe lowers the gearbox oil level, starves the clutches of pressure so they slip, and lets oil drip onto hot parts. A pipe crack usually starts at a clamp or right next to an end fitting, where vibration is greatest. So when a new pipe is fitted, the clamp rubbers are renewed too and enough clearance is left for the pipe to move freely with the engine. Hoses or cables rubbing on the pipe are rerouted.

Fitting

Before the change, drain the gearbox oil into a suitable container or plug the connections to avoid losses. In the first hours after the repair, watch the transmission oil temperature and level, and do the first oil and filter change earlier than usual.
