Gear wheel 459/50205 is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines.

This gear wheel is a spur or helical gear that transmits torque from one shaft to another in a transmission or axle reduction. The teeth are hardened and ground, and the gear sits on its shaft on splines or a bearing. When tooth faces pit, a tooth breaks or the hub wears, the gearbox whines, noise rises in certain gears and broken tooth fragments can damage other gears and bearings. Fitting

On assembly, clean the gear, shaft splines and bearings and renew any circlips and washers. Check that the gear faces the right way on the shaft and measure the end float. After assembly, fill the gearbox with the specified oil and test it in all gears. The oil holes and bush surface in the gear hub must be clean, since poor lubrication wears the hub and lets the gear rock on its shaft. Fit the gear the right way round by its markings and line up any matching marks. During the first hours after the change, watch the gearbox noise and temperature.
