O-ring BLA2717 is an aftermarket part for the JCB JS crawler excavators.
An O-ring is a rubber ring that seals the round joint between two parts: it sits in a groove and is squeezed on assembly, stopping oil, hydraulic fluid or fuel escaping. JCB machines use hundreds of O-ring sizes in hydraulic connections, pump and valve bodies, axles and transmissions. A hardened, flattened or cut ring causes leaks and loss of pressure.

Compatibility
According to sources, BLA2717 is an O-ring used on JCB JS115, JS130, JS145, JS160 and JS180 excavators and the JZ70 and JZ140. Other parts are in Seals and oil seals.
Fitting
On assembly, clean the groove and mating face, wet the ring with the working fluid or suitable grease and seat it without twisting. Protect the ring as it passes sharp edges and threads, tighten the joint to the specified torque and check for leaks under pressure. Spare rings are stored somewhere cool and dark, away from sunlight and ozone, since rubber left in the light cracks at the surface and starts leaking soon after fitting. Before fitting, inspect the ring for cracks, cuts and moulding flash.
