A track that keeps slackening and needs grease pumped in every day is the typical sign of a failed adjuster seal. The seal is chosen by adjuster type and machine model; the dust seal, main seal and O-rings of one excavator's adjuster have different part numbers and are usually changed together.

Compatibility
According to sources, JRA-series seals are track adjuster seals of JCB JS130, JS160, JS200, JS220 and similar JS crawler excavators. Other parts are in Seals and oil seals.
Fitting
Before the change, release the pressure by slowly loosening the grease valve, never removing it completely. Fit the seals lubricated with clean grease, then pump in grease after assembly and set the track tension to the sag given in the manual. Tension is measured after driving the machine a few metres back and forth on level ground; an over-tight track strains the rollers and travel gearbox.
