Hub cassette seal 904/50033 is an aftermarket part for the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders.
The hub seal seals the rotating joint between the planetary gearbox and the hub at the axle end. A cassette seal has its own running surface, so shaft wear affects its life less. When the seal leaks, the planetary oil level drops, oil reaches the brake discs or the wheel side, and dust and water get in and ruin the bearings.

Compatibility
According to sources, seal 904/50033 is the same part as 904/M6779 and 904/50021: a front and rear hub seal measuring 127 x 160 x 15.5/17.5 mm, used on JCB 1CX, 2CX, 3C, 3CX, 3DX, 4CX and 214E backhoe loaders, Fastrac tractors, the TM300 and telehandlers. Fitting
For the change, remove the wheel and planetary gearbox and drain the oil. Clean the bore, lubricate the seal's outer surface and fit it the right way round. After assembly, fill the planetary with the specified oil and check for leaks after the first run.
