Fuel filter ME006066 is an aftermarket part for the mini excavators and compact machines with Yanmar and Mitsubishi engines.

The fuel filter traps particles in diesel fuel, protecting the injection pump and injectors. The fuel systems of modern diesels work to very fine tolerances, and even a particle of a few microns that passes the filter can wear pump plungers and injector nozzles. A clogged filter makes the engine lose power under load, run roughly or stop. The filter is changed at the interval the engine maker specifies and after any doubtful fuelling. The filter comes new.

According to sources, this spin-on fuel filter is equivalent to Mitsubishi ME006066, Yanmar 119000-55600 (also used on Komatsu and Takeuchi machines), Caterpillar 094-7073, John Deere M811031 and Hitachi 4276952. It is 77 mm in diameter and 82 mm high with an M20 x 1.5 thread and filters 30-micron particles at 99% efficiency. Other parts are in Other filters.

Fitting

Do not pre-fill the fuel filter, since fuel poured in from outside can reach the clean side. Record the date and engine hours in the service log, and collect the old filter and spilled fuel without harming the environment. Clean hands and tools matter when changing a fuel filter, since dirt on the filter head can reach the clean side of the new filter. Do not overtighten the bleed screw on the filter head.
