For the Caterpillar, Case, John Deere and New Holland machines: hydraulic filter 9T-5664, an aftermarket part.
A hydraulic system has filters with different jobs: the return filter cleans oil returning to the tank, the suction strainer the oil going to the pump, the servo (pilot) filter the pilot circuit oil, and the drain filter the oil from the pump and motor leakage lines. Each filter's pore size and flow are matched to its job, so the filter is chosen by part number. A filter of different fineness either protects the system poorly or clogs quickly and runs in bypass.

Compatibility
According to sources, this spin-on hydraulic filter is equivalent to Caterpillar 9T-5664, Case 87027972, John Deere AT58368 and New Holland 86542664, with a 1-1/2-16 UN thread, 123.5 mm diameter and 169 mm height. Other parts are in Other filters.
Fitting
Before the change, park the machine on level ground, lower the attachments and release the hydraulic tank pressure by opening the cap slowly. Clean around the filter housing, since even the smallest dirt entering the hydraulic system harms the pump and valves. Remove the old element, lubricate the new one's seal with clean hydraulic oil and seat it. After the change, start the engine, work the functions a few times to purge air and check the oil level. Check the hydraulic oil level in the position the maker specifies (usually with the arms in a set position), since a reading taken in the wrong position leads to over- or under-filling.
