Oil dipstick 123/02407, 82 cm is an aftermarket part for the Perkins AA, AB and AK engines.

The dipstick shows the engine oil level in the sump, with minimum and maximum marks set for the engine. A dipstick of another length reads wrongly, so the oil can be low while the level looks correct. Without a dipstick, dust gets in through the tube and crankcase gases escape. The dipstick may be a flexible steel strip or wire, with the marked end showing the level. Its handle closes the tube and keeps dust out. Its length is defined by the part number.

Fitting
