For the Perkins-engined machines: pressure sender 2848A071, an aftermarket part.
An engine oil pressure sender screws into the oil gallery of the engine block and monitors the pressure produced by the oil pump while the engine runs. With a hot engine at idle, oil pressure is at its lowest, and a brief flicker of the warning in this state can mean the pressure is marginal. The sender is connected to the warning lamp or gauge on the instrument panel. Before changing it, stop the engine and let it cool; a little oil will run out, so place a container underneath. After fitting, start the engine and check that the warning goes out and there is no leak around the sender. When the engine oil and filter are changed on time, oil pressure stays steadier and the sender gives no needless warnings. The sender comes new. Push the connector onto the sender until it locks.

Fitting
After fitting, secure the harness with ties so it does not touch moving parts or hot surfaces, since a chafed wire loses its insulation and causes a short circuit.
