Temperature sender 701/80627 is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines. The card also lists 701/80394.
A transmission oil temperature sender warns the operator when the gearbox oil overheats. Overheating is caused by long periods under heavy load, slipping, a blocked oil cooler or low oil level, and it shortens the life of the clutch plates and seals. When the warning comes on, let the machine idle without load so the oil cools, and find the cause. Do not change the sender with hot oil, and check the oil level after fitting it. Clean the transmission oil cooler fins along with the radiator, since blocked fins are the commonest cause of oil overheating. The sender comes new.

Fitting
Before the change, switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery negative if needed. Remove the connector by pressing its latch, never by pulling the wires. After fitting the new part, push the clean, dry connector fully home and check that the latch has clicked into place. After reconnecting the battery, check the function and the instrument panel.
