This part is the key cap with the tortoise (slow mode) symbol for a rocker switch on the JCB cab panel. The tortoise symbol marks slow speed or fine control mode, used in tight spaces and for precise work. The cap fits over the switch body, and its symbol window lets the operator recognise the switch's function at a glance. A broken or cracked cap, or one with a worn symbol, leads to the wrong switch being pressed and lets dust into the body; if the switch body is sound, only the cap is replaced. The cap is chosen by part number and the size of the switch body.

Fitting

The cap is pressed onto the pivots of the switch body, and the old one is removed by gently lifting its edge. After fitting, check that the switch moves freely to every position.
