Panel switch 701/E0003 is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines.

This part is a rocker switch fitted to the cab panel of JCB machines. The photo shows four pins at the back, and the numbers beside them show the connection layout. Rocker switches turn circuits such as work lights, wipers or extra functions on and off, with heavy-current loads usually driven through a relay. A worn switch makes the function cut out now and then or sticks in one position. Rocker switches usually have two or three positions, and on some the symbol on the rocker is backlit. The current the switch can carry is limited to the value on its body, and if a larger load is connected directly the contacts burn and the switch heats up, leaving melt marks on the panel. When replacing it, check the pin numbers so it goes into the same connector in the same order. The product card lists this switch by part number only, so confirm its function from the old switch's position and rocker symbol.

Compatibility

Fitting

Do not wipe cab switches with wet cloths or solvents, since liquid seeps inside and oxidises the contacts. The switch is chosen by part number and its pin layout compared with the old one.

JCB 3CX and 4CX wiring diagrams before and after May 2009: sheets and component keys
Section C of the JCB service manual (publication 9803/3290-15) gives the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loader wiring diagram in two versions: one for machines built up to May 2009 with analogue instruments and one for machines from May 2009 with the digital instrument panel. On the earlier machines the main machine circuit takes two sheets, with separate circuits for the gearboxes and options; the later circuit runs to 15 sheets. Below are the main sheets, the component keys and a guide to reading wire numbers.
