For the JCB machines: rear lights switch 701/58827, an aftermarket part.

This switch is listed in the product card as the rear work lights switch, number 701/58827, from the angled-rocker panel switch series. The rear work lights illuminate the area behind during backhoe work and reversing. The switch drives the lamp relay, and if it runs hot the relay and wiring are checked too. The switch pins are numbered, and the wires go onto the same numbers on the new switch.

Compatibility

Other parts are in Rocker switches.

Fitting

Switch off the ignition before the change. Remove the switch from the panel by pressing the clips at the back or gently lifting its bezel, and unplug the connector without pulling the wires. Push the new switch fully onto the connector and press it into the panel until the clips lock. After the change, check every position of the switch and the related function. If the pins at the back are darkened or melted, check the harness connector too, since a faulty connector will heat the new switch as well. After the change, test the function in every position. Rocker switches are held in the panel by their side clips, and a switch with broken clips can be pushed into the panel when used.

JCB 3CX and 4CX wiring diagrams before and after May 2009: sheets and component keys
Section C of the JCB service manual (publication 9803/3290-15) gives the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loader wiring diagram in two versions: one for machines built up to May 2009 with analogue instruments and one for machines from May 2009 with the digital instrument panel. On the earlier machines the main machine circuit takes two sheets, with separate circuits for the gearboxes and options; the later circuit runs to 15 sheets. Below are the main sheets, the component keys and a guide to reading wire numbers.
