For the JCB machines: solenoid valve coil 25/223261, an aftermarket part. On the product card the part is listed simply as a coil; the valve it fits is not given. Compare the bore, voltage and connector type with the old coil.
A coil fault is easily mistaken for a hydraulic valve fault, so diagnosis starts with the electrics: fuse, wiring, connector and coil resistance. Moisture and corrosion inside the connector reduce the voltage at the coil and make the function work intermittently. When changing the coil, clean the cartridge body, slide the new coil on and secure it with the nut without overtightening, which can damage the cartridge body. The coil is chosen by part number and voltage, since a coil for a different voltage either will not work or will overheat and burn out. The aftermarket coil matches the original's bore, voltage and connector type. The coil comes new.

Compatibility
According to the product card, the part number is 25/223261. Fit is confirmed by the part number and the machine serial number. Other parts are in Relays.
Fitting
Before changing the coil, switch off the ignition and unplug the connector. Slide the new coil onto the cartridge, tighten the nut by hand, plug the connector in and check the function in operation. Clean and dry the connector contacts before plugging in, and make sure the connector seal is in place. Tighten the coil nut by hand without overdoing it. After fitting, test the function from the cab.
