Solenoid coil 983/10826 JCB Loadall, aftermarket

Solenoid coil 983/10826 is an aftermarket part for the JCB Loadall telehandlers.

According to sources, 983/10826 is an electromagnet coil used on JCB Loadall 540-140 and 540-170 telehandlers. On telehandlers, solenoid valves control functions such as steer modes, auxiliary hydraulics and boom functions, and a burnt coil disables the related function. Before replacing the coil, measure the voltage at its connector: with no voltage the fault is in the wiring, switch or control unit. The coil slides onto the cartridge tube and is held by a nut, so it can be changed without opening the hydraulics. A live coil is never removed from its cartridge, since without it the coil soon overheats and burns out.

Fitting

Before the change, switch off the ignition and disconnect the battery negative if needed. Remove the connector by pressing its latch, never by pulling the wires. After fitting the new part, push the clean, dry connector fully home and check that the latch has clicked into place. After reconnecting the battery, check the function and the instrument panel. The part comes new; before fitting, compare its part number and connection type with the old part. After the change, check the function and the warnings on the instrument panel.
