According to the product card, this coil is listed for Caterpillar machines under the numbers 324-2579 and 280-7009, and the card also gives 85827798 (Case/New Holland) and FB2350C-D, apparently references used by different makers for the same coil. The coil is chosen by comparing its bore, length, voltage and connector type with the old one, and the machine model is confirmed with the serial number when ordering. The coil slides onto the cartridge tube and is held by a nut, so it can be changed without opening the hydraulics. A live coil is never removed from its cartridge, since without it the coil soon overheats and burns out. The coil comes new, and its connector type must match its mate on the harness.

Fitting

After fitting, secure the harness with ties so it does not touch moving parts or hot surfaces, since a chafed wire loses its insulation and causes a short circuit.
