Before replacing the box, disconnect the battery negative and photograph or note the positions of the fuses and relays, since a relay in the wrong place or a fuse of another rating can leave a circuit unprotected or stop a function working. Always use fuses of the rating shown on the diagram on the cover. Seat the box without breaking its clips and check that the cover closes fully. The box is chosen by part number. The engine bay fuse box should not be hit directly by the pressure-washer jet, since water gets past the cover seal and corrodes the fuse legs. If green oxide or traces of melted plastic are seen inside the box, check the wires and connectors of that circuit too. Keep spare fuses in the slots inside the cover or in the cab, so a blown fuse can be replaced on site at once.
