The new bush is fitted square with a suitable drift or press after the eye has been cleaned, and is never struck directly with a hammer. The grease hole in the bush is lined up with the grease passage in the eye. After assembly the joint is greased until the old grease and dirt come out, and it is greased more often during the first days. If the grease passage is blocked, the bush soon runs dry.

Fitting
