Boom latch cable 1J0040 is an aftermarket part for the Terex backhoe loaders. According to the product card, the cable is for the Terex TLB 815 and is 2575 mm long.

The boom lock holds the backhoe boom in the transport position and stops it lowering or swinging on its own while travelling on the road or during maintenance. The lock is operated from the cab by a cable or lever, while stops and limiters restrict the boom's travel. A rusted cable, a worn lock tongue or a missing stop means the boom will not lock and swings while driving, which is dangerous for both the machine and people nearby. The sleeve and ends of the lock cable are checked for rust, as water that gets into the sleeve can freeze in winter and jam the cable. The lock tongue and its seat are kept clean and lightly greased.
