When a new pin is fitted, the rubber lock or washer is replaced too, as the old locking element no longer holds the pin firmly.

Fitting

Drive the old pin out with a punch from the opposite side of the tooth. Fit the new tooth on the adaptor, place the retainer and hammer the pin in until fully seated. Wear eye protection, as sparks and fragments can fly when steel parts are struck.
