Tip pin and retainer ZD300PN XCMG, aftermarket

Tip pin and retainer ZD300PN is an aftermarket part for the XCMG machines. According to the product card, this part is a tip pin and retainer.

The retaining pin secures the bucket tooth (tip) to the tooth adaptor. It usually works together with a rubber or spring retainer and stops the tooth coming off while digging. A worn or bent pin, or one with a failed retainer, lets the tooth come off and be lost; the adaptor then works directly in the material and wears fast, and a lost tooth that gets into a crusher can cause serious damage. The pin is chosen by tooth system, as different systems of the same tooth size use different pins. The bucket teeth and their pins are inspected at the start of every shift. When a new pin is fitted, the rubber lock or washer is replaced too, as the old locking element no longer holds the pin firmly.

Fitting

Drive the old pin out with a punch from the opposite side of the tooth. Fit the new tooth on the adaptor, place the retainer and hammer the pin in until fully seated. Wear eye protection, as sparks and fragments can fly when steel parts are struck.
