Track rod 126/02253 JCB 3CX/4CX, aftermarket, option 4

Track rod 126/02253 is an aftermarket part for the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders.

Steering play may not come from the track rod alone: check the knuckle trunnions, the steering cylinder pin joints and the axle mountings as well. After the rod is changed, equalise the front tyre pressures and drive on a straight road to check that the steering sits centred and the machine does not pull. Work carefully on rough ground to avoid striking the rod. All the steering system grease nipples are filled at the same service.

According to sources, 126/02253 and 335/Y6895 are numbers of the same track rod assembly, 440 mm long with an M24 x 1.5 thread, used on JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders and telehandlers. Fitting

Before fitting the rod, clean the taper holes in the knuckles and check them for ovality, since a ball joint will not seat tightly in a worn hole. After torquing the nuts, fit new split pins, lock the adjusting nuts and check that both rod ends lie in the same plane. Recheck the nut torque after the first hours of work.
