Differential taper bearing 907/50100, aftermarket, option 3

For the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders: differential taper bearing 907/50100, an aftermarket part. This bearing is the taper roller side bearing supporting the differential casing.

In construction machine axles the bearings support the gears and shafts and carry both radial and axial loads. On backhoe loaders and telehandlers the axle works hard, with bucket loads, shocks from rough ground and frequent changes of direction, and the bearings must carry these loads without upsetting the gear mesh. A worn bearing changes the gear clearances, causes whine and heat and in time damages the gears and seals, so it is replaced at the first signs of wear.

According to sources, 907/50100 is a 387A/382 taper roller bearing (57 x 95 mm) used as the differential side bearing of JCB backhoe loaders such as the 3CX. Fitting

The bearing is changed in clean conditions; take the new bearing out of its packaging only at fitting and do not wipe off the protective oil. Press it into its housing or onto its shaft only with a suitable driver and only through the ring that has the interference fit; the rollers and cage must never be struck. On taper roller bearings the cone and the cup are replaced together. After fitting, set the bearing preload or clearance by the method in the machine's service manual and top up the axle oil to the specified level.
