For the JCB machines: transmission spacer 823/10264, an aftermarket part.
The spacer is chosen by part number according to inside and outside diameter and thickness, and even a few tenths of a millimetre change the setting. Mark the position of each spacer when dismantling and refit it in the same place. Spacers with marks or wear on their faces are renewed. The spacer should slide onto the shaft with a slight clearance but must not rock, since excess clearance lets it sit crooked and the neighbouring parts make uneven contact. When the spacer is changed, the relevant section of the shaft is therefore measured and, if worn, the shaft is assessed too.

Compatibility
According to the product card, 823/10264 is a spacer. Fit is confirmed by the part number. Other parts are in Transmission.
Fitting
On assembly, oil the spacer with clean transmission oil and slide it onto the shaft squarely. Once the parts on the shaft are assembled, measure the end float with a dial gauge and compare it with the manual value, adjusting with a spacer of another thickness or shims if needed. In the first hours after the repair, watch the transmission oil temperature and level, and do the first oil and filter change earlier than usual.
