Planet gear 4475.305.562 ZF, aftermarket

Planet gear 4475.305.562 is an aftermarket part for the backhoe loaders with ZF axles. This gear is a planet gear of the planetary gearbox.

The planetary gearbox at the wheel end consists of the sun (central) gear, the planet gears and the internally toothed annulus (ring) gear. The sun gear, turned by the axle shaft, drives the planets, which roll inside the annulus and turn the hub carrier and so the wheel, slower but with more torque. Pitting, chipped teeth or heavy wear cause whine, knocking and metal particles in the oil. The planetary oil level is checked regularly.

Renew the gaskets, tighten the bolts to the specified torque and fill the planetary with the specified oil. The gear comes new; before fitting, check the teeth for burrs or impact marks. Hold the planet gear needles in place with grease during assembly.
