For the JCB machines: needle bearing (transmission) 917/52900, an aftermarket part.
In needle bearings, the cage material and number of needles determine the load capacity. Store the bearing clean and dry and take it out of its packaging just before fitting. The life of a needle bearing depends heavily on the cleanliness and viscosity of the oil: the oil film between the thin needles and the surfaces is very thin, and even small particles in the oil leave marks on them. Changing the transmission filter and oil on time is therefore especially important for needle bearings. After fitting a new bearing, turn the gear on the shaft by hand to check that it runs smoothly without catching.

Compatibility
According to the product card, 917/52900 is a needle bearing. The card also lists 917/10000, another JCB number for the same part. Fit is confirmed by the part number. The catalogue also has the aftermarket version and genuine version of this part. Other parts are in Transmission.
Fitting
When dismantling, photograph or note the order of the gears, washers and bearings, since mixing up needle bearings and thrust washers changes the end float. On assembly, wet all rotating parts with clean oil and seat the circlips fully in their grooves. After assembly, measure the end float, fill with the specified oil and watch its temperature in the first hours.
