Spool wiper seal 25/924128 is an aftermarket part for the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders.
The wiper seal cleans dust and dirt off the control valve spool where it leaves the valve body and stops it getting inside. On backhoe loaders the spool ends are constantly exposed to dust and water. Dirt entering through a torn wiper scores the spool seal and spool surface, making the levers stiff and letting the valve leak oil.

Fitting
Before the change, release the hydraulic pressure and clean around the valve. Remove the old wiper without scoring the spool and press the new one squarely into place with a suitable sleeve. After assembly, work the levers in all directions and check for leaks. Rust and dirt on the spool ends are removed before fitting the new wiper with a clean cloth and suitable cleaner, not with abrasive paper.
