Brake piston seal, large 813/50014 is an aftermarket part for the JCB JS crawler excavators. According to the product card, this is the large brake piston seal of the JS.

The brake piston O-ring seals the inner and outer edges of the brake piston in axles with wet disc brakes. When the pedal is pressed, fluid pressure pushes the piston against the discs, and the O-rings stop the pressure escaping and the brake fluid mixing with the axle oil. A hardened or cut O-ring reduces braking power, makes the pedal soft and causes an unexplained rise in axle oil level.

Fitting

On assembly, clean the grooves, wet the rings with brake fluid or axle oil and seat them without twisting. Push the piston into the housing squarely and evenly, then bleed the brake system and test the brake. When changing brake seals, also check the brake discs and piston surface, since a scored piston will soon damage a new seal.
