Transmission kit PS760 998/M4524 JCB 3CX/4CX, aftermarket

For the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders: transmission kit PS760 998/M4524, an aftermarket part. According to the product card, the kit is for the PS760 powershift transmission.

The kit is chosen by transmission type and model, as gasket shapes and ring sizes differ even between gearboxes from the same maker. During the repair, besides the seals, the clutch plates, bearings, shaft grooves and oil pump are inspected too, since a worn shaft groove will soon make a new ring leak pressure as well. The transmission filter and oil are also renewed with the repair.

Fitting

Strip the transmission in a clean place, clean and inspect the parts, then fit the new gaskets and seals. Clear the mating faces of old gasket material and wet the seal lips and O-rings with clean transmission oil. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque, fill the gearbox with the specified oil, and after the first run measure the clutch pressures and check for leaks. In the first hours after the repair, watch the transmission oil temperature and level; if shifts are delayed or slip, stop working and check the clutch pressures again.
