For the construction machines: JHP0037 straight grease nipple, an aftermarket part. According to the product card, this is a straight nipple for JCB JS excavators.

Grease nipples differ in thread (metric, BSP or UNF), body length and angle (straight, 45° or 90°). A nipple with the wrong thread damages the thread of the hole, and one with the wrong angle makes it hard to fit the grease gun coupler. The nipple is chosen by part number or by the thread and angle of the old one. When it is replaced, the hole is cleaned and the passage checked for blockage.

Fitting
