Loader lift cylinder 576/60187 JCB 3CX/4CX 50x80 mm, aftermarket

For the JCB 3CX and 4CX backhoe loaders: loader lift cylinder 576/60187, 50x80 mm, an aftermarket part. The card also lists 576/60128, 576/60158.

The bore and rod diameters, stroke and mounting eyes of a cylinder are set by the machine, so the cylinder is chosen by part number and compared with the old one. When comparing, check the closed length between eyes, the stroke, the position and threads of the ports and the pipes on the barrel. Internal leakage can be checked by driving the cylinder to the end of its stroke and holding it under pressure: if it keeps moving under load, suspect the piston seal or the relief valve in the control valve. A leaking rod seal shows as an oil ring and caked dust on the rod. The aftermarket cylinder comes painted, with a hard-chromed rod and capped ports; remove the caps only just before connecting the hoses so no dirt gets in. The cylinder's pipes and hose unions are protected in transit; take care not to bend them during fitting. The cylinder is chosen by part number.

The cylinder raises and lowers the loader arms; there are two on the machine. Other parts are in JCB hydraulic cylinders.

Fitting

Before removing the cylinder, lower the equipment to the ground or prop it and release the pressure; cap the hoses. Fit the new cylinder on its pins, grease them and fit the retainers, then connect the hoses. With the engine at idle, run the cylinder through its full stroke several times without load and check the oil level.
