Main relief valve (MRV) LNC0204 is an aftermarket part for the JCB machines.

Choosing the right valve matters if the machine's hydraulic circuit is to work as designed: a valve with a different set pressure or internal design changes the speed and force of the function and can defeat a safety function. The valve is therefore chosen by the machine maker's part number and compared with the old one. When fault finding, swap a suspect valve with a sound valve of the same type where possible and see whether the fault moves. Release all system pressure and lower any loaded equipment before the change. The valve comes new with its O-rings fitted and is kept in its packaging until fitting. The valve comes new and unused.

Fitting

Before changing the valve, release all system pressure, lower any loaded equipment and clean around the valve so no dirt enters the cavity. After removing the old valve, clean the O-ring remains out of the cavity. Oil the new valve's O-rings with clean hydraulic oil, start it by hand and tighten it to the specified torque. With the engine running, test the function first without load, then under load, and check the joint for leaks.
