Load holding valve 25/207300 JCB, aftermarket

For the JCB machines: load holding valve 25/207300, an aftermarket part. The card also lists E6B060Z, 8868506, 310N409.

The valve is used in the boom lift and extension cylinders of telehandlers and in the stabiliser and arm circuits of backhoe loaders. It is a cartridge type, screwed into the valve block on the cylinder, with a factory setting. To check it, measure how far the cylinder drops under load. The aftermarket valve matches the original in cavity, thread and setting. A leaking valve shows as the arm slowly lowering with a load suspended; a cylinder seal fault can give the same sign, so the valve is checked first and then the cylinder. The valve is supplied new with its O-rings fitted. The aftermarket valve has the same setting as the original. The valve is supplied new with its end protected.

Fitting

Before replacing it, lower or prop the load fully and relieve pressure; clean the cavity, oil the new valve's O-rings and tighten it to the specified torque. Then run the cylinder through its full stroke a few times unloaded and check load holding.
